Sammie, I believe, thinks she’s a ninja. She is always trying to be super sneaky – putting her head and one paw up in your lap to try and climb onto the furniture; turning as she sits ever so nicely at your feet so she can maybe possibly get her nose in your food; or even belly crawling to get closer to the cats so she can attempt to play with them. Unfortunately (for her), she couldn’t be more obvious, and it’s easy for anyone to pick up on what she’s trying to do. It make it easy to at least TRY and correct her behavior before it becomes full-blown. However, try consoling the cats with that logic!
They both have learned to stand their ground really well. Tubby has learned better than Frou that if you don’t pay any attention to her, she’ll get bored and leave you alone. I’m not sure what has changed this past week, though, to make her think they’d be great playmates. Maybe it’s just the fact that they’re four-legged furry creatures like herself. Maybe it’s because she met some chihuahuas recently and thinks these guys must be like them. Or maybe it’s because no matter what we did this weekend, that girl has some energy to spend!
We went to the DP Sunday morning and were there for maybe two hours. A long time. Not only that, but Sammie had lots of friends to play with, including her buddy Ice (the super pale Siberian Husky she got along with famously a couple weekends ago). When Ice left, Sammie had no trouble finding other dogs to run with, so we thought she’d be pretty tuckered out when we got home. No such luck. I even went outside and threw the Kong for her, which she would race around after in her figure eights. NOTHING seemed to tire her out! We’re talking about going to the DP again tonight – hopefully there will be more friends for her and she’ll finally quiet down. Wish us luck!!
