Play Time with the Cats

The cats have toys, too! Sometimes, we’ll see them tear after something, only to realize it was a toy mouse, ball, or fruit/veggie (purchased at the state fair a couple of years ago – best purchase ever!). Other times, we’ll realize they haven’t played with anything for a while and when we search, we find ALL of them under the couches. However, we only have one toy that is interactive, in that we feel like we’re playing WITH them, and that’s their ‘feathers on a string’ toy:

It’s great and can keep Tubby entertained for a while. Frou is less keen on it. So I figured I’d ask the local experts (psst: that’s you!) how you play with your cats. And if you say you’ve taught your cat to play fetch, I will be forever jealous.

Definitely not catch! My two like things like catnip-scented toy mice and having blades of grass or a twig dragged past them. Hermie particularky likes

Sorry, this is frustrating trying to type on my phone! I’ll try again: Hermie particularly likes assisting with bed-making – having the top sheet ‘floated’ down over him and playing with the folds of material, and having us ‘attack’ him while he’s under the cover. Not good for the bedding but lots of fun 🙂

Ohh! That would be fun. I bet my kitties would like that as well!

Oh try it! He loves sleeping under the covers so he’s not fussed by having them over him. I’d love to take photos of him under the sheet as it floats down, but it would take a better photographer than me!

You would probably just need a camera with a timer to set it down so you still have both hands to float the sheet down! I say go for it!!

Laser! A tied up plastic bag! In the bed moving hands under the fluffy blanket! But it’s true… feathers on a stick, or even better – on a rubber string tied to a stick is the best game ever!

Boxes, whether they’re empty or not!! Not exactly the most interactive, but still fun for both parties 😉
