Our Water Dog

It’s raining cats and dogs here in Missouri! Sammie, as I’ve told you before, HATES rain. She refuses to go outside in it – she would have to be desperate to go to the bathroom to go out in the rain. Emma, on the other hand, is a water loving dog!

She was happy to be out in the rain until it started to absolutely pour. At that moment, she scurried back to the door.

The rain has cooled the temperatures, so I left the door open, in case Sammie decided to be brave and join us. Tubby got curious, but decided he would stay inside with Sammie. This is as far as either of them would go:

Emma is like a child, they love to play with water in the rain, and the more dirty they get, the more happy they are ( don’t know about grammar rules :-)).

      You are so very right!

And you did very well, grammar-wise! English speakers would say dirtier instead of more dirty and happier instead of more happy 🙂

When we first adopted Eivor we had to escort him with an umbrella to do his business in the rain …

Sammie will do that sometimes, but not very often.

A little rain never hurt me. Or a lot, for that matter. I’m with you, Emma!

I vote for playing in the rain. Rolling around in mud puddles is the BEST!

Emma was fascinated by rain puddles this morning. She would watch the rain hit them and she would go over and sniff them out. We’ve been lucky to avoid the mud (this time!).

Its poured here as well. Alcide is a big baby and wont walk off the porch if he sees the sidewalk is wet haha

Why is it that the bigger they are, the more of a baby they seem to become?!

I have noticed that too lol. Is Sammie every afraid of your cat? Like Alcide loves the kitties and the cats get along with our dogs but sometimes our cat Duncan will lay in front of the door way and Alcide is such a baby to walk past her that I have to move our cat for him to walk past lol. She is like no more than 10 pounds. haha

Haha, never! She just always wants to give Mr. Tubs lots of kisses, and he’s not usually a fan of that.

Glad you are getting rain. We finally got a little here, but are in desperate need of more. It has been a very hot and dry summer. Glad to see Emma enjoying the time outside. Tippy will tolerate rain to do her business, but is ready to come right back inside.

I wake up every morning to flash flood warnings! I think we would be more than happy to share some of our rain with you…

So cute! Rufus doesn’t love the rain but he’ll go out in it as long as he has company haha.

Aww! Maybe Sammie will eventually do the same (we can hope, anyway!).
