Emma is… not the most graceful puppy to walk this earth. In fact, she can be downright clumsy! Especially on our hardwood floors. Not unlike myself, in fact.
Case in point: Over the weekend, we had all been upstairs getting ready for our day when I decided I needed to go downstairs for something. Not thinking anything about leaving Emma with Aaron, off I went. As I got to the bottom of the stairs, I heard a loud thud and looked up to see this:
Emma was sliding down the stairs on her belly, legs sprawled out beside her, determined – apparently – to get to me! I grabbed her before she crashed on the landing, put her down, and immediately curled over laughing so hard I was CRYING. Aaron yelled at me about laughing, asking if I even checked to see if she was alright (she was). I still laugh every time I think about it! She’s lucky I was still there to catch her, though…
I’ve been working with her on going DOWN the stairs ever since, and we’re taking just a few steps at a time. She can currently go down about 1/3 of the way all by herself without resorting to a penguin slide!
BOL, BOL, BOL! She’s like a kid on a railing. Just take the fastest way down. Mom and I can picture this!!
